Nov 01, 2010  In a sinter plant, iron ore and fluxes are agglomerated as a suitable feedstock for the blast furnace. Fig. 1 shows a schematic diagram of the sintering process. The sintering process is energy intensive and produces a considerable amount of CO 2 from the combustion and calcination of coke breeze and carbonates, respectively.
